Pathol. (a) A condition of gaseous pressure in the body, esp. of the ear or of the alimentary canal; an accumulation of gas in a bodily cavity or organ, flatulence; also, gas generated within the body, often in the alimentary canal;
(b) a morbid bodily swelling or distention produced by gas;
(c) ?error for unctuosite n. [1st quot.]; also, ?error for venenosite n. [quots. may belong to (a)].
