In the next place we have the confirmation, or proof of the prediction of a future judge∣ment, from the testimony of the Gospel, according to my Gospel,where three things are inquired. - Out of those many duties in which this pre∣paration stands, some few selected, unto which the Scripture propounds the day of Judgement as a motive: and they re∣gard either God, our selves, or others.
- A second sort of duties, unto which the day of Judgement excites, regard our selves.
- A third sort of duties, to which the day of Judgement is a provokement, regard o∣thers. And they may again be subdivi∣ded, they respect either all men, or bad men, or good men.
