(a) Having the property of destroying organic tissue by corrosive action; (b) a substance having the property of destroying organic tissue by corrosive action; specif., one having the mildest of three degrees of corrosive action, that of consuming soft, superficial flesh; also fig.; (c) (a disease, ulcer, etc.) accompanied by destruction of organic tissue.
