Includes manuscript additions of text at several places on the map that are descriptive of topography and resources. These give sources for their information and were added to the map before it was dissected.
Dedication to Thomas Hutchins.
First published map of the Northwest Territory.
Sectioned and affixed to linen and folded into paper sleeve with manuscript label entitled: A map of the north west parts of the United States of America, including part of Kentuckey county from the Mississipi to Allegany River by John Fitch 1785.
Map and paper sleeve stored in blue archival box with front stamped: Presented by the Clements Library Associates in honor of John C. Dann at the time of his retirement 2007. Archival box enclosed in light blue storage case.
