Fourth of July Parade Float
Description
Circa 1939 American Legion sponsored Fourth of July Parade float commemorating the 1823 founding of Ypsilanti; float is passing the south side of the 300 block of West Michigan Avenue. In the rear left is the new United States Post Office, built in 1918, at 229 West Michigan Avenue, and used for that purpose until the 1960s when it became the main facility for the Ypsilanti District Library.
