Because of the war emergency and on the initiative of Dr. Sundwali
himself, the sabbatical of Dr. John Sundwall for the second semester
was canceled (p. 804).

The sum of $2,100 was added for the present University year only
to the Book Fund of the General Library, to meet present emergency
needs.
In order to make it possible for University representatives traveling by air to purchase such transportation at a discount of 15 per cent
from the regular fares, the Regents authorized a deposit of $425 with
the American Airlines. This sum is returnable in full should the
arrangement be canceled at the discretion of either party.
The Board authorized the payment of $30 per month from an
appropriate trust fund to the aged and indigent sister of the late
Professor Hugh Brodie, who by his bequest established the Hugh
Brodie-Joseph B. Davis Loan fund (p. 249).
