JANUARY MEETING, 1941 517 Deeded to F. Huston Colvin and Jeane Margaret Colvin: lot number 108 according to the recorded plat of Huron River Hills Subdivision, a part of the south west quarter of Section 16, Town 2 South, Range 6 East, Ann Arbor Township, Washtenaw County, Michigan, excepting the south 83 feet thereof, measured at right angles to the south boundary thereof. REAL ESTATE ACQUIRED BY QUITCLAIM DEED CONSOLIDA TED ENDOWMENT R.E. No. 182-B. Quitclaim Deed from Charles M. Hemphill and Josephine H. Crocker (71 North Huron Street, Ypsilanti, Michigan) Beginning at the corner formed by the intersection of the south line of Pearl Street with the west line of Huron Street and running from thence south along the west line of Huron Street twenty-nine feet; thence west on a line parallel with Pearl Street 124.67 feet; thence north parallel with Huron Street to the south line of Pearl Street; thence east along the south line of Pearl Street to the place of beginning, excepting and reserving six feet off the west side of the above described premises used as an alley, all being a part of lot one hundred eleven according to the Original Plat of the Village (now City) of Ypsilanti. Actions of the Executive Committee were approved and ratified as follows (p. 488): December 3, 1940 Present, President Ruthven, Regent Cook, and Regent Shields. At the request of Professor Alfred H. White, Chairman of the Department of Chemical and Metallurgical Engineering, and with the approval of Dean Ivan C. Crawford and the Executive Committee of the College of Engineering, Associate Professor Elmore S. Pettyjohn was placed on a half-time basis from December 1, 1940, to February 15, 1941, to permit him to accept an assignment to active duty as Lieutenant Commander in the United States Naval Reserve for that period. The work which Professor Pettyjohn is forced to drop will be carried on with the funds which are released by the change in his employment status. December 4, 1940 Present, President Ruthven, Regent Cook, and Regent Shields. At the request of Mr. Kenneth W. Morgan, Director of the Student Religious Association, the committee approved the payment of $50 as extra compensation to Edna Z. Alber, Secretary of the Association, for special services rendered in connection with the lecture course on marriage relations (p. 165). It is understood that funds are available from fees of students who attended the lectures, and no addition to the budget is therefore necessary. December 21, 1940 Present, President Ruthven, Regent Cook, and Regent Shields. At the request of Professor Orlan W. Boston, Professor of Metal Processing and Chairman of the Department of Metal Processing, and with the approval of Dean Crawford, the committee granted leave of absence on account of illness, with full salary, for the period from November 30, 1940, to January 1, 1941, to Henry Anielewski, Tool Clerk in the Department of Metal Processing. December 21, 1940 Present, President Ruthven, Regent Cook, and Regent Shields. The committee accepted with grateful thanks to an anonymous donor the sum of $2,750 for the work in Aboriginal North American Research for the period from January 1 to June 30, 1941 (p. 176). December 26, 1940 Present, President Ruthven, Regent Cook, and Regent Shields. On recommendation by Professor Benjamin F. Bailey, Chairman of the Department of Electrical Engineering, and with the approval of Dean Ivan C. Crawford, the committee granted leave of absence with full salary for a period of one month, beginning December 9, 1940, to Leon F. Rundell, Foreman of the Electrical Engineering Laboratory, who suffered a fractured leg on December 9. December 30, 1940 Present, President Ruthven, Regent Cook, and Regent Shields. At the request of Dean Ivan C. Crawford, the committee added the name of the Engineers' Council for Professional Development to the list of organizations
