SECOND OCTOBER MEETING, 1938 737 construction of two dormitory buildings in Ann Arbor, Michigan, under a Public Works Administration Grant No. M\ich. 1559-F. Now, therefore, be it Resolved, By The Regents of the University of Michigan that the prevailing hourly wage rates (i.e., the customary local wage rates) being paid in the building trades of Ann Arbor, Michigan, to employees in each trade or occupation engaged in work of a nature similar to the work to be performed in the construction of said Project is hereby determined to be as follows for each respective trade or occupation: TRADE OR HOURLY OCCUPATION WAAGE RATE 1. Brick Layers............$1.50 2. Cement Finishers........ 1.00 3. Carpenters.............. 1.00 4. Form Builders........... 1.00 5. Caulkers with Mastic.....75 6. Electricians............. 1.125 7. Electricians' Helpers.......65 8. Glazier................. 1.10 9. Hod Carrier............. 1.00 10. Instrument Man..........75 11. Iron Workers (Ornamental).......... 1.50 12. Iron Workers (Structural).......... 1.50 13. Laborers, Building........65 14. Laborers, Plasterers, Mason Tenders, Mortar Mixers..80 TRADE OR HOURLY OCCUPATION RWAGE RATE 15. Lathers, Metal........... $1.50 16. Operator, Hoist........... 1.50 17. Operator, Concrete M\ixer.. 1.50 18. Operator, Power Shovel... 1.50 19. Painters................ 1.05 20. Plasterers............... 1.50 21. Plumbers............... 1.125 22. Plumbers' Helpers.........65 23. Resilient Floor Layers.... 1.00 24. Reinforcing Steel Workers. 1.25 25. Truck Drivers...........75 Be it further Resolved, That the foregoing hourly wage rates for the respective trades or occupations listed above shall be and are hereby fixed as the minimnum hourly wage rates for all employees in each trade or occupation that will be engaged in work on said Project: Be it further Resolved, That the foregoing list of trades or occupations includes to the best of our knowledge, all the classifications of employees who will be engaged in work on said Project other than executive, supervisory, administrative, clerical, or other nonmanual workers as such. The Board adopted the following (No. 1691F): RESOLUTION OF THE REGENTS OF THE UNIVERSITY OF M'ICHIGAN TO BORROW FUNDS TO PAY COSTS INCIDENTAL TO ERECTING, FURNISHING, AND EQUIPPING A HEALTH SERVICE BUILDING AND TO PAY COSTS TO ACQUIRE ADDITIONAL LAND FOR A BUILDING SITE WVHEREAS, The Regents of the University of Michigan, a Constitutional Corporation, is desirous of constructing, furnishing, and equipping a strictly modern building to be used as a hospital and dispensary and to provide offices and other facilities to be used by the Health Service of the University of Michigan; and WHEREAS, The Regents of the University of Michigan is desirous of acquiring additional land adjacent to land now owned by it in order to provide a site on which to erect said new Health Service Building; and WTHEREAS, It is necessary and expedient that said Regents borrow through the issuance and sale of Health Service bonds the sum of Two Hundred Twentyfive Thousand Dollars ($225,000.00) to be used together with an additional sum of Seventy-five Thousand Dollars ($75,000.00) to be furnished by The Regents and a Federal Emergency Administration of Public Works grant of Two Hundred Thirteen Thousand Seven Hundred Fifty Dollars ($213,750.00) to pay all costs incidental to the constructing, furnishing, and equipping of said Health Service Building and to pay the purchase price of the additional land needed for a building site on which to erect said building; and WHEREAS, Ann Arbor Trust Company of Ann Arbor, Michigan, has submitted for the consideration of said Regents a Trust Agreement whereby the funds necessary for the purposes above set forth may be borrowed through the issuance and sale of the Health Service bonds heretofore mentioned; Now, therefore, be it Resolved, By The Regents of the University of Michigan that it borrow the sum of Two Hundred Twenty-five Thousand Dollars
