Aiton for the first semester of the present year (p. 495) The following changes in titles were made as recommended by the Committee on Office Personnel: Phyllis Jean Horr, Typist and Clerk, Bureau of Appointments and Occupational Information, to Stenographer and Clerk, Bureau of Appointments and Occupational Information Mildred D. Webber, Assistant to Director, Bureau of Appointments and Occupational Information, to Assistant to the Director in General Placement and Secretary of the Bureau of University Appointments and Occupational Information Marjorie T. Chavenelle, Stenographer, Bureau of Appointments and Occupational Information, to Secretary in the Bureau of Appointments and Occupational Information Barbara D. Nelson, Clerk, Bureau of Appointments and Occupational Information, to Stenographer and Clerk, Bureau of Appointments and Occupational Information Jean MacGregor Shilling, Stenographer, Bureau of Appointments and Occupational Information, to Stenographer and Clerk, Bureau of Appointments and Occupational Information Mildred Irene McDonald, Clerical Assistant, President's Office, to Secretary to the Provost, President's Office June Eleanor Baylis, Stenographer, President's Office, to Secretary to the Assistant to the President, President's Office The following leaves of absence, as recommended by the Committee on Office Personnel, were approved: James F. Hoolsema, Half-time Stenographer in the Museum of Anthropology, University Museums, without pay from June 15 to September 14, 1938 Harriet Heath, Half-time Secretary to the Assistant Dean, Office of the Dean of Students, with pay (vacation allowance) from June 21, 1938, through July 15, 1938; and without pay from July 16, 1938, through August 31, 1938 Martha Cooper Essig, Part-time Stenographer in the Department of Materia Medica, without pay from June 19, 1938, to September 21, 1938 Margaret Remington Stone, Assistant to Director in Bureau of Alumni Relations, without pay from September 15 to November 12, 1938 Ethlynn Hoaglin Sprentall, Secretary in Department of Political Science, without pay from September 22, 1938, to October 31, 1938 The sum of $600 was transferred from the unexpended balance in the Salary account of the Department of Zoology to the Salary account of the Department of Mathematics, and the sum of $200 from the Salary account of the Department of Zoology to the Salary account of the Department of Philosophy, all in the College of Literature, Science, and the Arts. The sum of $7,000 was added to the budget of the College of Engineering with the understanding that the Dean of the College would report to the Regents for record the manner in which this total had been distributed in order to provide for increased attendance in the College during the present University year. The sum of $3,000 was added to the budget of the Horace H. Rackham School of Graduate Studies to be distributed by the Dean in such manner as shall within his discretion best meet certain very pressing needs of the School, report to be made to the Regents by him of the distribution which he makes. On recommendation of the Executive Faculty of the Medical School the Certificate in Anesthesia was voted to Dorothy Alice Thoms.
