FIRST OCTOBER MEETING, 1938 703 The sum of $2,000 was added to the Salary account of the College of Architecture to provide necessary additions to the staff in Decorative Design during the year 1938-1939. This committee is to consist of: (1) Professor L. M. Gram, Director of Plant Extension, who will be responsible primarily for the preparation of satisfactory plans and specifications, and for the prosecution of field work on the various building projects. (2) Mr. J. C. Christensen, Controller, who will be responsible primarily for all documents and reports which may be necessary in connection with the building work, including plans and specifications for equipment. Under the general oversight of the above two members will be (3) Mr. Walter Roth, who will have direct charge of the preparation of all plans and sketches to be furnished by the University in connection with the general building construction; who will check plans, specifications, and estimates submitted by the architects, and supervise field operations on behalf of the University. He will report to Professor Gram. (4) Mr. Francis Shiel, who will have direct charge of a central construction office where documents and correspondence are kept. He will see to it that all information and instructions received at this office are properly distributed and filed and will arrange for meetings of all building committees, and act as secretary at such meetings, prepare minutes and forward copies to members of the committee respectively and to others concerned; and will supervise the preparation of plans, specifications, and estimates for equipment. He will report to either Professor Gram or Mr. Christensen or both, according to his judgment as occasion arises. (5) Mr. Harold S. Anderson, who will assist Mr. Shiel in the construction office, being charged particularly with the responsibility for assembly in proper form of all of the data required by the PWA organization, commenc
