Cecil John McHale, M.A., was appointed Assistant Professor of
Library Science for the University year 1938-1939, with salary of
$3,750 for the year as provided in the budget.
Katherine Elizabeth Schultz, A.M.L.S., was appointed Assistant
Professor of Library Science for the University year 1938-1939, at the
salary of $3,500 as provided in the budget.
The title of Edith J. Smith was changed from Assistant to the
President to Budget Assistant, President's Office, effective July 1, 1938.
The Board made two salary adjustments in accordance with recommendations presented by the Committee on Office Personnel (p. 527).
Dr. John W. Riegel was promoted from Associate Professor of
Industrial Relations and Director of the Bureau of Industrial Relations to Professor of Industrial Relations and Director of the Bureau
of Industrial Relations, with increase in salary from $5,500 a year to
$6,000 a year, twelve-month basis. The salary for 1938-1939 will be
provided: (1) by the sum of $5,000 from University funds, which
represents an addition to the budget; and (2) by $1,000 from funds
provided by the Earhart Foundation. These changes are effective
July 1, 1938.
Jerome W. Conn, M.D., was promoted from Instructor in Internal
Medicine to Assistant Professor of Internal Medicine, effective July
1, 1938, without change in salary or otherwise in terms of employment.
Isadore Lampe, M.D., was promoted from Instructor in Roentgenology to Assistant Professor of Roentgenology without change in
salary or other terms of employment, effective July 1, 1938.
The salary of Dr. Russell W. Bunting as Dean of the School of
Dentistry was fixed at $7,500 a year, twelve-month basis, beginning
July 1, 1938. This action adds $500 to the budget.
