APRIL MEETING, 1938 521 From the Detroit Edison Company, Detroit, through its Vice-President, Mr. A. C. Marshall, several pieces of equipment which were loaned to the Department of Physics in June, 1936, for use in the development of the cyclotron. This equipment is valued at $3,000. From Colonel Edwin S. George, Garfield Building, Detroit, a check for $250 to be used for investigations on the Edwin S. George Reserve during the summer of 1938. The money has been deposited with the Business Office and the fund designated the Edwin S. George Special Research in the Museum of Zoology. From the Michigan Daughters of the American Revolution, through the State Treasurer, Frances S. Hoppin, a check for $100 to be added to the Clements Library Special fund for the preservation of certain manuscripts on the American Revolution From an anonymous donor the sum of $10 as an addition to the funds for the Joint Committee for Public Health Education (pp. 488 and 102) From an anonymous donor the sum of $3,009 as an addition to the funds for the Joint Committee for Public Health Education (p. 488) From Mr. F. M. Hesling, Class of 1937, the sum of $25 as a contribution to the Student Goodwill Aid Fund for Men, being a voluntary repayment of a gift made to the donor last spring (p. 488) From the Board of Governors of Martha Cook Building, a contribution of $200 to be added to the Anne E. Shipman Stevens Fellowship (p. 488) From the Michigan League Undergraduate fund, the sum of $2,300 for the Ethel A. McCormick Scholarship fund (pp. 382 and 38) From the Michigan League Undergraduate fund, the sum of $2,600 for the Alice Crocker Lloyd Fellowship fund (pp. 382 and 21) From the Pontiac Association of University of Michigan Women, the sum of $41.65 to be added to the Mary B. Henderson Memorial fund (p. 471) From the Pontiac Association of University of Michigan Women, the sum of $25 as an addition to the Alumnae Council Fellowship fund From the Students' Dormitory Committee, the sum of $1,733.73, being the balance of contribution for purchase of the Murfin Gate (p. 356) Frcm Messrs. Charles Henry Hodges, Jr., and Wetmore Hodges of Detroit, a fellowship for the period from March 1, 1938, to December 31, 1940, in the total sum of $4,950, the fellowship to be in honor of the father of the donors, the late Mr. Charles Henry Hodges. The investigation is to be with respect to fish and fisheries on the grounds of the Huron Mountain Club in Northern Michigan. To this fellowship, Lloyd Lyman Smith, Jr., A.B., was appointed, with stipend of $50 a month for the months of March, April, May, and June, 1938, and $100 a month for the thirty months from July 1, 1938, to December 31, 1940. During the first period of four months, the total sum of $250, and during the final period of thirty months the total sum of $1,500 are to be available for expenses.
