The Board made certain salary adjustments within the budget in
accordance with recommendations of the Committee on Office Personnel (p. 915).
Professor John W. Bradshaw was appointed Acting Chairman of
the Department of Mathematics for the period of Professor Theophil
Hildebrandt's leave of absence, namely, the first semester of 1939-1940
(p. 894).
Associate Professor William L. Ayres of the Department of Mathematics and Professor Chester S. Schoepfle of the Department of Chemistry were elected members of the Executive Board of the Horace H.
Rackham School of Graduate Studies, to succeed Professors Peter Field
and Floyd E. Bartell, terms to expire June 30, 1939 (p. 537). The
new appointments are for the period from July.1, 1939, to June 30,
1944.
President Ruthven, Vice-President Yoakum, Vice-President Bruce,
Professor Carl E. Guthe, and Messrs. Henry S. Hulbert and Clarence
E. Wilcox, of Detroit, were constituted as a board of advisers for the
Institute of Public and Social Administration for a five-year period
from July 1, 1939, to June 30, 1944 (R. P. 1932-1936, pp. 835, 646,
and 531).
Professor Arthur W. Bromage was reappointed for the term of
three years to membership on the Executive Committee of the Institute of Public and Social Administration (p. 603). Professor Bromage's new term extends from July 1, 1939, to June 30, 1942.
The following appointments were made to the Board of Governors
of the Student Religious Association (p. 616):

term, April 1, 1939, to March 31, 1940
