The Board met in the Regents' Room at 3:55 P.M.
Present, the President, Regent Beal, Regent Stone, Regent Crowley,
Regent Cram, Regent Hemans, Regent Lynch, and Regent Cook. Absent, Regent Shields and Superintendent Elliott. There were also in
attendance Vice-President Yoakum, Dr. F. E. Robbins, Mr. H. G.
Watkins, Provost Stason, Professor L. M. Gram, and the Secretary.
The usual monthly financial reports were filed by the Secretary.
The minutes of the meetings of March 31 and April 14 were approved as submitted to The Regents in press proof with certain specified changes.
The following "Resolution Awarding Contract" was adopted (p.
893):

WHEREAS, The Regents of the University of Michigan in the County of Washtenaw and the State of Michigan pursuant to an advertisement for bids on furnishing and installing kitchen equipment for the proposed Dormitory for Women,
herebefore published on the 8th and 15th days of April, 1939, did on the 24th day
of April, 1939, at 2:00 o'clock P.M. at its office in the City of Ann Arbor, Michigan, receive bids for furnishing and installing kitchen equipment for the proposed
Dormitory for Women, which said bids were taken under advisement by The
Regents of the University of Michigan: and
WHEREAS, The base bid of Albert Pick Company, Inc., for furnishing and
installing kitchen equipment, is the lowest bid submitted by any responsible bidder:

And WHEREAS, The University Building Committee has recommended that the
contract for furnishing and installing kitchen equipment, in the amount of $22,317,
be awarded to Albert Pick Company, Inc.
Now, therefore, be it Resolved, By The Regents of the University of Michigan,
that the contract for furnishing and installing kitchen equipment, in the amount of
$22,317, be awarded to Albert Pick Company, Inc.
That this award shall not be effective until the awardee has been notified in
writing by the Vice-President and Secretary of The Regents of the University of
Michigan of the award of the pertinent contract.
