George Olding, Owner-Architects' Representative on Men's Dormitory, Docket No. Mich. 1714-F (p. 875), salary, $350 a month. Starting date, January 16, 1939. Experience record, 23 years' experience as architects' representative on building construction. Frank Ortman, Owner-Architects' Representative on the W\omen's Dormitory. Docket No. Mich. 1695-F (p. 841); salary, $300 a month. Starting date, February 6, 1939. Experience record, 15 years as superintendent of construction and owner-architects' representative. Also connected with the University during the building program at the time Simpson AMemorial was erected. Clarence M. Hurlahe. Engineer, Docket No. Mich. 1714-F (p. 875); salary, $400 a month. Starting date, January 20, 1939. Experience record, with the Detroit Edison Company for 14 years as designer. (Mr. Hurlahe has been loaned to the University for an indefinite period to do the design work in connection with the Power House Extension.) F. P. Experience record, 15 years' experience in mechanical, structural, and architectural design. Richard D. Atwood, Equipment Clerk; salary,' $150 a month. Starting date, November 14, 1938. Experience record, formerly employed by the University Purchasing Department and more recently in charge of Waterloo Project north of Jackson, Michigan. Stenographers: Dorothy Harbison, salary 65c an hour. Starting date, December 3, 1938. Margaret Frederick, salary 60c an hour. Starting date, February 6, 1939. Franceina Murray, salary 50c an hour. Starting date, January 25, 1939. The Regents approved the following nominees by the University Musical Society to be directors of the Musical Society for the threeyear period ending with the Society's annual meeting in 1942 (R.P. 1932-1936, p. 772): Harley A. Haynes, Alexander G. Ruthven, Shirley TW. Smith, and Durand W. Springer. Further, E. BlIthe Stason was appointed to fill the remaining portion of the term of Arnold H. Goss, deceased, from the present date to the time of the annual meeting in 1940 (p. 178). The title of Dr. Arthur E. Wood was changed from Professor of Sociology and Director of the Curriculum in Social Work (in Ann Arbor) to Professor of Sociology and Chairman of the Degree Program in Preprofessional Social Work. The Board made the following promotions and salary adjustments, all as recommended by the Faculty Personnel Committee (p. 861). No additions to the budget are involved: COLLEGE OF LITERATURE, SCIENCE, AND THE ARTS English Language and Literature Leonard Fellows Dean, A.M., Teaching Fellow, salary increased from $750 to $1.250, beginning February 13, 1939
