The Board met in the Regents' Room at io o'clock A.
M. Present, the President, Regent Leland, Regent Beal,
Regent Sawyer, Regent Hubbard, Regent Clements, Regent
Bulkley, Regent Hanchett, and Regent Gore. Absent, Superintendent Keeler.
The minutes of the meeting of January 19 were approved as submitted to the Board in proof with changes
in phraseology or typography on pages 662, 664, 666, 668,
676, 677, and 68I.
Regent Hubbard, for the Committee upon the economical
use of University Buildings (see page 665) reported progress, and filed a blue print prepared by Professor Bursley
giving floor space data for the New Engineering Building
and the Old Engineering Building as compared with the
Science Building.
On motion of Regent Sawyer, the matter of extending
the benefits of the University Health Service to University
employees (see page 440) was taken from the program and
laid upon the table.
Regent Beal reported a tentative agreement with the
City of Ann Arbor with respect to the care of the Botanical
Garden (Geddes Avenue) and Arboretum and upon his
motion the Board adopted the following resolution:
Whereas, The former working agreement between
the Board of Park Commissioners and the Regents of the
University of Michigan regarding the so-called Botanical
Gardens and Glen Drive properties is now obsolete, and,
Whereas, It is desirable that the above properties be
maintained and improved jointly and that another working
agreement be made,
Be it Resolved, That the Park Commission keep up the
roadways in good passable condition and the University
