fifths of the cost ($500) of a course of lectures by an authority on international law and diplomacy. On motion of
Regent Hanchett, the Board accepted this offer with thanks,
and set aside $Ioo for the purpose.
The request of the Rev. LeRoy N. Pattison for an increase in his salary as Assistant Curator of the Alumni Memorial Hall was referred to the Executive Committee, with
power.
On motion of Regent Hubbard, the Board referred to
the Buildings and Grounds Committee for investigation and
report the matter of providing a master-clock system to
furnish time to the Campus should it prove impossible to
continue to use the clock now in the Library towers.
A communication was received from Mr. W. B. Shaw,
General Secretary of the Alumni Association, making the
proposal that there should be established as an annual event
a University Alumni Day, when the alumni might return
and find the University in full operation. On motion of
Regent Hubbard, the Board expressed its favorable attitude
toward this proposal and referred the matter to the Executive Committee, with power to work out the details necessary to put the plan into execution.
On motion of Regent Hubbard, the Board referred to the
Executive Committee, with power, the question of the salary
to be paid to Professor H. H. Higbie.
All of the above actions were by unanimous vote.
On motion of Regent Hubbard, the Board adjourned to
January 19, I917, at 9:30 A. M.
