472 JUNE MIEETING, 1916 Department responsible: Regents. Donor: Margaret E. Hunt and Charles J. Hunt. Date of Opening: May I9, I9I6. Conditions of the Trust: See Proceedings of Regents, February 26, 1902, pages 22 to 26. Initial amount of principal to be loaned: $io6.oo. The Secretary reported that the Directors of the Athletic Association had elected Earl B. McKinley, James W. Thomas, and Willis Brodhead as student members in the Board of Control of Athletics for the year ending May 31, 1917. On motion of Regent Beal, these elections were confirmed. The Secretary reported that the Chairman of the Industrial Accident Board had communticated the fact that the award of the committee on arbitration in the case of the widow of the late J. B. Draper had been confirmed by the Industrial Accident Board sitting as a board in review of the case. The Secretary further reported a communication from Cavanaugh & Burke, attorneys of the Regents, to the effect that the Supreme Court had on June 23 filed an opinion dismissing the writ of error in the case of Bancroft vs. the Board of Regents. On motion of Regent Hubbard, the thanks of the Board were voted to Mr. A. M. Todd, of Kalamazoo, for his recent gift of old medical works to the Medical Library. A number of petitions transmitted to the Regents by Mr. Francis F. McKinney, Managing Editor of The Mlichigan Daily, requesting that Ferry Field be opened for athletic exercise on Sunday afternoons, on motion of Regent Beal were denied. The President filed a letter of thanks from Professor Harlow S. Person, President of the Taylor Society, expressing the gratification of the Society with respect to the entertainment extended by the University on the occasion of the recent meeting of the Society in Ann Arbor. The President filed a communication from Professor Jesse S. Reeves stating that the Political Science Department had awarded to Eber Malcolm Carroll, of the Class of IQI6, the William Jennings Bryan Good Government
