Proceedings of the Board of Regents (1914-1917)

404 APRIL MEETING, I9i6 M. Reed, widow of the late John O. Reed, and from Dr. Mary MI. Cutler. On motion of Regent Gore, the Rcgents directed that the Standing Committees of the Board should remain in I916 the same as they had been in 1915. The President presented a letter from Liang Tun Yen, Minister of Communications of the Chinese Republic, expressing to the University the Ministry's appreciation of the leave of absence granted to Professor I-Ienry C. Adams, enabling him to take part in the work of the Chinese Commisison on the Unification of Railway Accounts and Statistics. The President stated that there had been deposited with the Treasurer the suni of $Ioo contributed by the NewT York Alumnre Association to constitute the Eliza Mosher Loan fund. Under the terms of the gift this fund is to be loaned to women of the University irrespective of Department but with especial consideration for medical -vomen; the fund is to be administered by the Dean of W\omen and the Woman Physician of the Health Service, in cooperation with the President of the New York Michigan Alumnae Association. This gift was accepted with an expression of the thanks of the Regents. Dean Bates communicated to the Board the fact that Professor Rolbert E. Bunker had presented to the Law Library I r volumes of New York State Reports. On motion of Regent Gore this gift was accepted with the thanks of the Regents. On motion of Regent Clements, the Board granted the petition of Albert Hyma that the due dates of his two loans of $75 each should be extended one year respectively from April 5, I9I6, and July I,:r916. On Motion of Regent Sawyer, the Board renewed for the year I915-I916 the contribution of the University in the sum of $Ioo to the work of the American School of Archaeology at Jerusalem. The President presented the following report of the Executive Committee, and, on motion of Regent Leland,. this report was approved and adopted:
