MARCH MEETING, 1916 389 Walter T. Fishleigh, Associate Professor of Automobile Engineering. Arthur J. Decker, Associate Professor of Sanitary Engineering. Professor Hussey asked whether, if requested, leave of absence would be granted to Associate Professor Ralph H. Curtiss for two or three years to inaugurate stellar spectroscopic work at the Observatory of the University of La Plata, in Argentina, and to secure spectrograms for supplementing the work which Professor Curtiss has been doing here, and also whether leave of absence would likewise be granted Mr. H. J. Colliau, Designer and Instrument Maker at the Observatory, in order that Mr. Colliau might accompany Dr. Curtiss and assist in installing the spectrograph and other apparatus. The question contemplated that the salaries both of Dr. Curtiss and Mr.' Colliau during their.absence would be paid by the University of La Plata. On motion of Regent Bulkley, the Board voted that these leaves of absence would, if requested, be granted in accordance with Professor Hussey's communication, with the distinct understanding that full recognition should be given to the University of Michigan in all publications of the results achieved through the work of Dr. Curtiss. On motion of Regent Clements, the Board appointed a committee consisting of the President, Regent Beal, and Regent Clements, with which committee the Secretary and the Superintendent of Buildings and Grounds should sit, to consider requests from members of the Faculty or other University officials for heat and light for offices or other quarters to be supplied on Sundays or at other irregular times. The following report was received from the Executive Committee, and on motion of Regent Leland, the report -was approved:To the Regents of the University of Michigan. Gentlemen: At the meeting of the Regents held February I, in view of the approaching expiration of leases on two of the houses in which nurses at the University Hospital are now lodged, the Board referred to the Executive Committee,
