Context
Built in 1873 by William H. Davenport as a wedding present for his son and his bride, Beverly Parsons Davenport and Emily Brown Pope. Both William and Beverly were president of the Citizens' Bank of Saline. Emily was instrumental in the organization of the First Church of Christ, Scientist, of Saline. Following their deaths in 1930 and 1931 respectively, the house was sold to James C. Little and his wife Verona. An original tower and a porch were removed in the 1940's. Aluminum siding added in 1960's. Mr. Frank, a prominent architect, purchased the house in 1972. This house is listed on the National Register.
