About the construction

Description
Two and a half story, Queen Anne style house with free classic detailing. Hipped roof with lower crossed gables. Wrap around porch with slender, column supports, and natural wood balustrade and railing. Sleeping porch over front porch. Fanlight window with keystone. Keyhole window on front (west) facade. One over one windows. Side entry porch with detailing similar to the front porch. North facade has two bays: the larger one is on the second story and has bracket supports; the smaller one is closer to the rear on the first story. The hipped roof section is probably missing an iron balustrade. Livery barn at rear.
Date Of Construction
1907 Ca.
Context
John Koch sold this home to Willis Fowler in 1907. The exact date of the home's construction is uncertain. In 1909, Fowler sold to Louis Cool, brother of Charles Cool and partner in the Cool Brother's Grain Company on N. Ann Arbor. Herman Heininger and his wife, Pauline, owned the home in 1920, and it remained in the Heininger family through 1966. Herman Heininger, and his brother Fred, owned Heininger and Heininger at 119 Michigan Ave. They sold automobiles (Chrysler, Willys-Knight, and Overland Star), and farm machinery and tractors. Gerald Wilde purchased the house in 1967, and is the current owner. This house is listed on the National Register as part of the North Ann Arbor Street Historic District.
