A small gathering of buildings is nestled at the bottom of a tall, rounded mountain range. Slightly above the settlement, two travelers make their way along the mountain path. A few trees crow up out of the mountains. The mountain range near the small village cuts diagonally across the picture plane, from bottom left to middle right. The top left of the image also contains mountains, taller still. Across from these on the top right is calligraphic text and two seals.

The peaceful scene provides a glimpse at daily life, depicting villagers pushing carts of goods and traveling into and out of town, sometimes on horseback. The eye follows this lively village of white buildings and tan roofs as it weaves its way up the mountain slope to what appears to be a royal dwelling or city center capped with emerald green rooftops and enveloped by rolling white clouds.

Physical Description
A buff sandstone sculpture of a lion, sitting erect with its front legs extended, all on a stone platform. The legs have been fully released from the stone, while surface details such as the curly mane and the tail are carved in low relief. In keeping with its role as a guardian figure, the lion has buldging eyes and its lips are drawn back to reveal sharp teeth.
