(a) To inter or entomb (a corpse); bury (with Christian rites, in hallowed ground); (b) of a priest: to perform the funeral rites; (c) of a plot of ground: beried, occupied by graves.

(a) To put (sth.) underground for concealment or safekeeping; beried in brest; (b) to cover (sb.) up; submerge (in water); fig. beried in simonie, helle, engulfed in simony, hell; (c) to take shelter, dwell; also fig.
3.
To do away with (sth.), put aside; bury (strife).
