Tenebrae, an evening service held during Holy Week at which candles are extinguished one after the other to commemorate the darkness associated with Christ's crucifixion; ~ candel; ~ tide (time), the time during which the Tenebrae services are held; ~ Wednesdai, Wednesday in Holy Week.
