Supplemental Materials (draft)

  • c1540(?a1400) Destr.Troy (Htrn 388:Matsumoto)908 : Iason..Drow euyn to the Dragon dressit hym to fight, And he gird hym agayne with a grym noyse; Mony sletynges vnslogh throughe hys slote yode.
Note: Modify gloss
Note: It seems to me that this case is also an adjective modifying the verbal noun. The third photocopy of the MS shows that "slecynges" in the EETS edition is an error for "sletynges". This verbal noun seems to mean 'something rushing out (of the hollow at the base of the throat or just the throat of a dragon,' that is, 'noises'. If so, the word "unslogh" could modify the verbal noun.--per YS
Note: See MED sleten v.(1)..(c)..also, rush, hasten.
