(a) To pinch (sb. or sth.), nip; also, cause (the brain) to feel pinched or nipped; (b) to pain (sb.), torment; assail; of hunting dogs: seize the prey with the jaws, attack; (c) to squeeze (sb.), constrain; (d) to squeeze close to a boundary.

(a) To pinch (pastry crust) with the fingers, seal by pinching or fluting; (b) ppl. i-)pinched, of clothing or a wimple: pleated, gathered, having folds or tucks; of a person: wearing tight-fitting or pleated clothing; (c) to crimp (hair), coil; (d) to pluck (an eyebrow).
