Derivational suffix.

Forming adjectives (a) on nouns: bērd-ed having a beard; ring-ed provided with a ring, made of rings [OE hring-ed]; horn-ed having horns, shaped like a horn [cp. OE hyrned beaked]; hōk-ed hook-like, curved [OE hōc-ed]; crabb-ed crab-like, i.e. ill-tempered, perverse; dogg-ed cur-like, i.e. surly, malicious; wrecch-ed like a wretch, i.e. miserable, distressed [cp. wrecche miserable]; (b)on noun phrases: ōn-eied one-eyed [OE ān-eaged, earlier ān-ēge]; thrē-fōted having three feet or legs [OE þrī-fōted, earlier þrī-fēte]; whīt-bērded having a white beard.
