Note: The title given in the MED stencil 'Purvey Determ.' is misleading on two grounds: there is no real evidence linking the text to John Purvey; and, though based largely on parts of an academic determinatio by Richard Ullerston (1401), the extant tract is not itself such a work. For want of a better title, the old one is retained here; note that Dove entitles the text after its incipit ("First seiþ Bois").
