CONSIDERATIONS, &c.
THE English Constitution, in its present State, may be consider'd as a nice Piece of Machinery, which has undergone many Changes and Alterations. To* 1.1 make it applicable to every possible Contingency which might affect any Part of that Society for which it was calculated, many finer Movements have, from Time to Time been added, which may indeed have answered some present Occa∣sion, but which have left it more expos'd to Injury from the slightest Obstruction. What State of Per∣fection it may, at this Period, have obtain'd, I leave to be determin'd by those, who have Talents better adapted, and Opportunities more favourable for such Kind of Speculation. I only mean to take Notice of a few Par∣ticulars which may serve to regulate my Sentiments
