Your adversary, I suppose, would here deny your Major, and say, that that interpretation gives the literall sense and meaning of the Commande∣ment, which includeth not onely the common and naturall equitie there∣of, obliging all, but also and more especially the particular determinati∣on

of the day, viz. the Jewish Sab∣bath: for so Master Broad contends. To the Minor also he would perhaps say, that your interpretation includes not onely the common and naturall equitie of the Commandement, obli∣ging all, but something else too, which it should not include (as the Com∣mandement respecteth Christians) viz. the specification of the time (i. e.) that it must be one day in seven: which though he would grant to be agreeable to naturall equitie, yet he would deny it to be necessarily requi∣red thereby.
