If you will quadruple ⅘, you shall diuide ⅘ by ¼ and thereof commeth 16/5 which 16. being diuided by 5. bringeth 3 ⅕, or otherwise, bicause the denomi∣nator of y^e fraction is an odde nūber, you shall multiplie the numerator of the ⅘ that is to say 4. by 4. and therof commeth 16. the which diuide by 5. and you shall finde 3. ⅕ as before, and this sufficeth for duplacion, triplaciō and quadruplacion.
