  • And there was given me a reed like unto a rod, and the Angel stood, saying, Arise, and measure the Temple of God, and the Altar, and them that worship there∣in.
  • VERS. 2. But the Court which is without the Temple, leave out, and measure it not: for it is given unto the Gen∣tiles, and the holy Citie shall they tread underfoot fortie and two moneths.
  • Vers. 3. And I will give power unto my two witnesses, and they shall prophesie a thousand two hundred and threescore dayes, clothed in sackcloth.
  • VERS. 4. Those are the two Olive trees, and the two Candlesticks standing before the God of the earth.
  • VERS. 5. And if any man hurt them, fire pro∣ceedeth out of their mouth, and de∣voureth their enemies: and if any man will hurt them, he must in this manner be killed.
  • VERS. 6. These have power to shut Heaven, that it raine not in the dayes of their Prophesie: and have power over the waters, to turne them into blood, and to smite the earth with all plagues as often as they will.
  • VERS. 7. And when they have finished their testimony, the beast that ascendeth out of the bottomlesse pit, shall make warre against them, and shall overcome them, and kill them.
  • VERS. 8. And their dead bodies shall lie in the street of the great Citie, which spi∣ritually is called Sodome and E∣gypt, where also our Lord was cru∣cified.
  • VERS. 9. And they of the people, & kindreds, and tongues, and nations, shall see their dead bodies three dayes and a halfe, and shall not suffer their dead bodies to be put in graves.
  • VERS. 10. And they that dwell upon the earth, shall rejoyce over them, and make merry, and shall send gifts one to another, because these two Pro∣phets tormented them that dwelt on the earth.
  • VERS. 11. And after three dayes and a halfe, the spirit of life from God entred into them: and they stood upon their feet, and great feare fell up∣on them that saw them.
  • VERS. 12. And they heard a great voyce from heaven, saying unto them, come up hither, and they ascended up to heaven in a cloud, and their ene∣mies beheld.
  • VERS. 13. And the same hour was there a great earth-quake, and the tenth part of the Citie fell, and in the Earth∣quake were slaine of men seven thousand, and the remnant were affrighted, and gave glory to the God of heave.
  • VERS. 14. The second woe is past, and behold the third woe cometh quickly.
  • VERS. 15. And the seventh Angell sounded, and there were great voyces in heaven, saying, the kingdomes of this world are become the king∣domes of our Lord, and of his Christ, and hee shall raigne for ever and ever.
  • VERS. 16. And the foure and twenty Elders which sat before God on their seats, fell upon their faces, and worshipped God.
  • VERS. 17.—We give thee thanks, O Lord God Almighty: which art, and wast, and art to come, because thou hast taken to thee thy great power, and hast reigned.
  • VERS. 18. And the Nations were angry, and thy wrath is come, and the time of the dead that they should be judged, and that thou shouldest give re∣ward unto thy servants the Pro∣phets, and to the Saints, and them that feare thy Name, small and great, and shouldest destroy them which destroy the earth.
  • VERS. 19. And the Temple of God was opened in heaven, and there was seen in the Temple the Arke of his Testament, and there was lightnings, and voy∣ces, and thunderings, & an earth∣quake, and great hail.
