O Good Jesu, I behold thy tender Heart pierc'd through with a cruel Spear, and seem to hear thee say, Blessed are the clean of Heart, for they shall see God. O that my sinful Heart were trans∣fixt with sorrow for my sins, by true com∣punction, that I may have the happiness to behold my God, by having a clean Heart, and purified Soul by true Contriti∣on.
