IN a tryal at the bar between Waldron Plaintif, and Ward Defendant, One Mr. Conye a Counceller at the Bar was examined upon his Oath to prove the death of Sir Thomas Conye. Whereupon Serjeant Maynard urged to have him examined on the other part, as a witness in some mat∣ters whereof he had béen made privy as of Counsel in the cause. But Roll chief Iustice answered, He is not bound to make answer for things which may disclose the secrets of his Clyents cause, and thereupon he was forborn to be examined.
