SECT. XXIV.

This Work of Grace is done by God and Christ, and God by Christ.

God justifieth.

To declare his righteousness, that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus. —Seeing it is one God, which shall justifie the Circumcision by Faith, and Uncircumcision through Faith. The Scri∣pture fore-seeing that God would justifie the Heathen through Faith.Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God's Elect, it is God that justifieth.

1. Because the promises come from God, who is the Author and Maker of them. God that cannot lye promised unto us Eternal Life before the World began. —For all the promises of God, in him are Yea and Amen, unto the Glory of God by us.. —That he might shew the exceeding riches of his Grace in his kindness towards us through Jesus Christ.

The Covenant containing these promises is God's will and Testament, we are made the Sons of God by God's will, not by Man's will. Christ came from Heaven not to do his own will, but his Father's will that sent him.
