The Names.

IT is called in Greek 〈 in non-Latin alphabet 〉〈 in non-Latin alphabet 〉, Vtis alba, and Vtalba, not that it is a Vine, but because it is somwhat like one; as also 〈 in non-Latin alphabet 〉〈 in non-Latin alphabet 〉 a 〈 in non-Latin alphabet 〉〈 in non-Latin alphabet 〉 signifying to put orth becaue it putteth forth many branches, whih camber pon the adjoyning bushes growing by them; it is likewise called 〈 in non-Latin alphabet 〉〈 in non-Latin alphabet 〉 becaue formerly ome ued the eeds or graines to get off Haire growing in thoe places it should not. In Latine, of some Vtcella of others Rorastrum, Apiastllum, and Uva Tamn a; but of most Vtis alba, and Bryonia; in English Bryony, White-Bryony Whte-VVild-Vine: the Grapes or Berries that grow thereon being called Teter-berries, because they are effectual to kill Tetters. The black Bryony is called Sgillum Sancta Maria, out Ladies Signet.
