Epigramme.
POur loüer un Heros il faut faire un Volume, Pour te loüer, Dorset, c'est trop peu de ma plume, Il faut être un Virgile, ou dumoins un Boileau, Et pour te peindre il faut d'Appelles le Pinceau. Ta Bouche a des Appas, & dans son doux Langage Ne rend pas même honneur au masque qu'au visage, Ta Plume a le Secret de marquer de bons vers, Car Appollon pour toy tient ses Thresors ouverts. Ton Esprit penetrant par tout se fait passage, Il est Subtil, & fin, il est Solide, & Sage. Il sçait bien en tout temps faire distinction, Entre l'Hypocrisie, & la Devotion. Du Vray d'avec le Faux il sçait les differences, Car il possede à fond les plus belles Sciences, Et quand il se fait voir suivi de ses Douceurs, Des Roys & des Sujets il sçait gaigner les Coeurs.
