III. ‡ Ceratum Stomachicum, A Cerate for the Stomach.

Salmon.] § 1. ℞ Frankin∣cense ℥jss. Gum Elemi, Wax, Ana. ℥ss. Oleum Petrae ʒiij. Oil of Cumin-seed distilled, Oil of Nutmegs by expression, Camphire, Ana. ʒj. Oil of Ben, q. s. melt the Frankin∣cense, Gum Elemi and Wax together with a gentle Fire; then being removed from it put in the Oils, in which let the Camphire be dissolved, adding at last the Oil of Ben, so much as to give it, its due Consistence.

§ 2. You may spread it upon Leather or Cloth, and so apply it to the Stomach, renewing it every other day, or as you see occasion.

§ 3. It comforts and strengthens a cold and weak Stomach, causes a good Ap∣petite and Digestion, re∣moves the Pains thereof, as also Pains and Stitches of the Sides, discusses Wind.

§ 3. Lastly, being worn for some time, it is a Specifick for the

curing of all sorts of Agues whatsoever, C••olick Pains, Bastard Pleuri••es, &c.
