X. * Oleum Scorbuticum, The Oil against the Scurvy.

Bate.] ℞ Horse Rad∣dish-roots ℥vj. Scurvy-grass, M. iv. Lavender-flowers, M. ij. Neats-feet Oil lbj. b••••l with a gentle Fire to the Con∣sumption of the Juices; pr•••••• out and add Spirit of Salt ʒiij. Spirit of Scurvy-grass ʒj. Oil•• of Cinnamon and Cloves, A. ʒss. Oil of Origanum ℈iv. mix them. With this Oil the parts affected are anointed once a day, for half an hour very warm.

Salmon.] § 1. But where Scorbutick pains affect in 〈◊〉〈◊〉 cold habit of Body, you must (besides anointing with it) apply it as a Pultice to the parts affected by mixing it with Pouder of Elecam∣pane and Bay-berries, Ana.

§ 2. In a cold Gout it is also a Specifick, first anoint∣ing with it, and then apply∣ing it in a Cataplasm as be∣fore directed.
