OF THE WORKES OF DARKNES and workes of the Flesh.
THE Lord saw that the wickednesse of man was great in the earth:
And all the imaginations of the thoughtes of his hart were onely euyll continually.
Hauing their cogitation darkoned, and being strangers from the lyfe of God, through the igno∣rance that is in them, because of the hardnesse of their hart:
Which being past feeling, haue geuen them selues vnto wantonnesse, to worke all vncleannesse euen with greedines.
Because that when they knew God, they glori∣fied him not as God, neyther were thankfull; but became vayne in their imaginations, and their foo∣lysh hart was full of darknesse.
For from within, euen out of the hart of man, proceede euyll thoughtes, adulteries, fornications, murthers, theftes, couetousnesse, wickednesse, de∣ceit, vncleannesse, a wicked eye, backbyting, pride, foolyshnesse: All these euyll thinges come from within, and defyle a man.
The workes of the Flesh are manifest, which are adulterie, fornication, vncleannes, wantonnes, idolatrie, witchcraft, hatred, debate, emulations, wrath, contentions, seditions, herisies, enuie, mur∣ther, drunkennes, gluttonie, and such lyke, where∣of I tell you before, as I also haue tolde you be∣fore,
