Now then that the children of the faith∣full ought to be baptised may be shewed out of Gods word by foure speciall argu∣ments. The first is from the example of Circūcision, which assuredly had the like a reason & the same signification that bap∣tisme hath. For like as by Circumcision

God testified to the people of Israell the b remission of sinnes and c regeneration: so by Baptisme doth he promise the very same things vnto the Christians. If there∣fore their infants then, at Gods d cōmande∣ment were Circumcised: it is a good con∣sequent that the children of the faithfull vnder the Gospell be baptised.
