The doctrine.

The remedie then against the vauntes and pryde of man his prudence or wisedome, is that wee knowe our selues to be men, that is to saye, that wee diligently weigh and consider the base∣nesse of our condition and estate: the which then at length shal bee well knowen and seene of vs, if wee vnderstande that wee haue to doe with God, and earnestly set his maiestie before vs: with the brightnesse whereof al those shadowes and shewes of greatnes and strength wil doubt∣lesse vanishe quite and cleane away. Let vs knowe that it shall bee well prouided both for our selues, and ours, after that wee shall bee departed out of this life, if wee shall establishe our strength and stedfastnesse in the prouidence of God.
