¶ He promyseth to come vnto them and exhorteth them so to ordre them selues, that he may fynde them perfecte, and of one mynde.
CAPI. XIII.
NOw come I the thyrde tyme vnto you [ A] * in the mouth of two or thre witnesses shall euery thynge stande. I tolde you a∣fore, and tell you afore: and as I sayd when I was present wt you the seconde tyme, so wryte I now beinge absent to them whiche in tyme past haue synned, and to all other: that yf I come agayne, I wyll not spare, seynge that ye seke experience of Chryste, whiche speaketh in me, whiche amonge you is not weyke, but is myghty in you. For verily thoughe it came of weyknes that he was crucifyed, yet lyueth he thorow the power of God. And we no doubt are weyke in him, but we shall lyue with him [ B] by the myght of God amonge you.
Proue youre selues whether ye are in the fayth or not. Examin your own selues: know ye not your selues how Iesus Christ is in you onlesse ye be castawayes? I trust that ye shal knowe that we are not castawayes. I desyre [ C] before God that ye do none euyl, not that we sholde seme commendable, but that ye sholde do that is honest: and let vs be accompted for leude persons. We can do nothynge agaynste the truth, but for the truth. We are glad whē we are weyke, and ye stronge. This also we wysshe for, euen that ye were perfect. Therfore wryte I these thinges beyng absent, lest when I am present, I sholde vse sharpnes, according to the power which the Lorde hath gyuen me to edifie, and not to destroye. Finally brethren [ D] fare ye well, be perfect, be of good comfort, be of one mynde, lyue in peax, & the God of loue and peax shall be with you. Grete one an o∣ther in an holy kysse. All the sayntes salute you. The grace of our Lorde Iesus Chryst, and the loue of God, and the felawshyp of the holy ghost be with you all. AMEN.
