the east quarter vnto the west shal Iuda haue his porcion. Vpon the borders of Iuda from the east parte to the west, ye shal set asyde one porcion of .xxv. M. meteroddes longe & brode, (lyke as an other porcion from the east syde vnto the weste) therin the Sanctuarye shall stande.
As for the porcion that ye shal separate out for the Lorde, it shal be .xxv. M .longe, and ten thousand brode. Which separated holy porciō shal belong vnto these: namely to the prestes towarde the north xxv. M. and toward ye west ten thousand brode, toward the east ten thou∣sand brode also, and toward the south .xxv. M long, wherin the Sanctuary of the Lord shal [ B] stand. Yea this same place shal be the preestes that are of the children of Sadoch, and haue kepte my holy ordinaunce, which went not a∣straye in the errour of the children of Israel, like as the Leuites are gone astray: and this separated pece that they haue of the lād, shal be the moost holy, harde vpon the borders of the Leuites.
And next vnto the prestes, shal the Leuites haue .xxv. thousande long, and ten. M. brode. This shal be on euery syde .xxv.M .long, and ten. M. brode. Of this porcion they shal sel no thing, ne make any permutacion therof, leest the chief of the lande fall vnto other, for it is halowed vnto the Lorde.
The other fiue. M. after the bredth that ly¦eth by the .xxv. thousand, shall be commers: it shal belong to the city and to the suburbes for habitacions, and the citye shall stande in the middest therof. Let this be ye measure: toward the north part fiue hundred and four. M. to∣warde the south part, fiue. C. and four. M. to∣warde the east part .v.C. and ••our. M. toward the west part .v.C. and four thousand.
The suburbes hard vpon the city, shal haue toward the north .l. and two .C. towarde the south .l. and two .C. toward the east .l. and .ij.C towarde the west also .l. and two hundred. As for the residue of the length yt lyeth harde vpon the separated holy grounde: namely .x. M. toward the east, and ten. M. towarde the west, vnto the holye porcion: it and the en∣crease therof, shall serue for their meate that laboure in the citye. They yt labour for the welth of the city, shal mayntei•• this also, out of what tribe so euer they be in Israel.
[ C] All that is separated of the .xxv. thousande long and .xxv. thousand brode on the four par¦tes, that shall ye put a syde for the separated porcion of the sanctuary, and for the possessiō of the city. The residue vpon bothe the sydes of the sanctuary and possession of the city shal belonge to the prince, before the place of the xxv. thousande vnto the east ende, and before the place of the .xxv. M. westwarde, vnto the borders of the citye: this shall be the prynces porcion. This shall be the holy place, and the house of the sanctuary shall stand in the mid∣dest. Moreouer, from the Leuites and ye citi••s possession that lye in the middest of the princes part: loke what remayneth bitwixt the bor∣der of Iuda and the border of BenIamin, it shal be the princes.
Now of the other tribes.
From the east part vnto the west shal Ben [ D] Iamin haue his porcion. Vpon the borders of BenIamin from the east side vnto the weste, shal Simeon haue his porcion. Vpon ye bor∣ders of Symeon from the east part vnto the west shall Izakar haue his porcion. Vpon the border of Izakar frome the east side vnto the west, shal Sabulon haue his porcion. Vpon the borders of Sabulon from the east part vn¦to the west shal Gad haue his porcion. Vpon the borders of Gad southward, the costes shal reache from Thamar forthe vnto the waters of stryfe to Cades, and to the floode, euen vn∣to the mayne se.
This is the land with his porcions which ye shall distrybute vnto the tribes of Israell sayth the Lord God. Thus wide shal the city reache: Vpon the north part fiue. C. and four thousande measures. The porces of the citye shall haue the names of the trybes of Israel. Thre porces of the north syde: one Kubē, an other Iuda, the thirde Leui.
Vpon the east side fiue. C. and foure thou∣sand measures, with thre port{is}: The one Io¦seph an other BenImin, the thirde Dan. Vpō the south side fiue hundred and four thousand measures, with the thre portes: the one Sy∣meon, an other Izakat, the thirde Sabulon. And vpon the west side fiue. C. and foure. M. measures, with thre porces also, the one Gad an other Asser, ye thirde Nephthali. Thus shal it haue .xviij. thousand measures round about. And from that time forth the name of the city shalbe: The Lorde is there.
