The Epistle.

IN those dayes came Prophets from the Ci∣tie of Hierusalem, vnto Antioch. And there stood vp one of them named Agabus, and signified by the Spirite, that there should bee great dearth throughout all the world, which came to passe in the Emperour Clau∣dius dayes. Then the disciples, euery man according to his habilitie, purposed to send succour vnto the brethren which dwelt in Iewrie: which thing they also did, and sent it to the elders, by the hands of Barnabas and Saul. At the same time Herod the king stretched forth his hands to vexe certaine of the congregation. And hee killed Iames the brother of Iohn with the sword: and because hee saw it pleased the Iewes, he proceeded further, and tooke Peter also.
