No humane ordinance becomming an idoll may lawfully be vsed in the service of God. But the signe of the crosse, being an humane ordinance is become an idoll. Ergo: the signe of the crosse, may not lawfully bee vsed in the service of God. Answere to the Conclusion.
The Conclusiō of every syllogisme receaueth his vir∣tue and strength of the premisses, which being firme & true, it standeth good, being weake and false, it faileth, & is of no effect. The Maior therfore of this syllogisme being false euery way, as hath been declared; and the Minor being vntruely fitted, and applied, to the signe of the Crosse in Baptisme, vsed in our Church, This Conclusion striketh without any force, and missing the

body, lighteth into the aire and hurteth not. And for a∣ny thing in this syllogisme contained, the Crosse may be stil both lawfully and commend••bly vsed in the service of God.
