there is a sumptuous Monastery of Monks, a place of great devotion, being richly endowed with treasure, that it is the chiefest next to Orlet∣to. Here pilgrims are entertained for three dayes. And there is ano∣ther mountain, two miles higher than this, where there is 12 Hermits live, and there trees and herbs flou∣rish all the winter long, having most curious Springs and Fish-ponds, wherein are great plenty of Fish, and the said 12 Monkes never eat Flesh all the year long, and they have most part of their provisions as Wines, Spices, and such like from the mountain below them; This is a very famous mountain, and wor∣thy seeing of any traveller that shall travell that way, aud he will not repent his pains.
