2. Theokesbury, v. Tewksbury.

A Monastery of Black Monks first built by Oddo Duke of Mercia, A. D. 715. to the honour of the blessed Virgin. It was restored by Rob. Fitz-Haimon A. D. 1102. By the pious munificence of whom, and several other Benefactors, the yearly revenues of this Abby were worth at the Suppression 1598^l. 1^s. 3^d.
