Of Honesty.

THere are two sorts or kinds of Honesty, the one a bastard, and the other a true-born; the bastard is to be honest, for by-re∣spects, as out of fear of punishment, either to their reputations, estates, or persons, or for love of rewards that honesty brings; but the true-born honesty, loves honesty, for honesties sake, and is a circle that hath no ends, and justice is the center, and Honesty is the sweet essence of nature, and the God of Humanity.
